R-1828-5-00RESOLUTION NO. 1828-5-00 (R) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION FOR FUNDING OF A JUVENILE CREWE DIVERSION PROGRAM TO THE STATE OF TEXAS CRD41NAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR CONSIDERATION FOR FUNDING UNDER THE JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM; AND ACKNOWLEDGING A TEN PERCENT LOCAL MATCH FOR OVERALL PROJECT COST FOR ANY APPROVED FUNDED PROJECT; WHEREAS, the City of Allen recognizes a need for deterring juvenile crime; and, WHEREAS, the State of Texas Criminal Justice Division has indicated that grant funds are available under the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen pledges its share of the cost of the project, as required, if a grant is obtained; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen pledges that, in the event of loss or misuse of Criminal Justice Division Funds, the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS THAT: SECTION 1: The City Council authorizes submission of a grant application to the Criminal Justice Division for the Juvenile Aceourtab0ity Incentive Block Grant Program for funding the City's Juvenile Crime Diversion Program and authorizes the City Manager to act in behalf of the City in matters related to securing said grant. SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Allen acknowledges that upon approval of funding for the projects, the City will provide the minimum ten percent (10%) local match for the overall project cost approved by the Criminal Justice Division. SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Allen pledges that, in the event of loss or misuse of Criminal Justice Division Funds, the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full.
