Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present. With a quornm of the members present, the TRIAD Meeting was called to order by Mayor Terrell, President Masters and Chair Kaiser at 6:31 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016, in the Multi -Purpose Room at the Allen Senior Recreation Center located at 451 St. Mary Drive, Allen, Texas 75002. 2. Update on Acquisition of Molsen Farm Property. Mr. Dentler and Mr. Pitcock provided an update on the acquisition of the 14 acres by the City and 16 acres by the District at the Molsen Farm property. They discussed the importance of working together as the properties are developed for the benefit of the community. 3. Update on Proposed Brazos Electric Kittyhawk Substation and Transmission Project. Mr. Ellwanger provided an update on the proposed project. He reviewed the process the City will take to intervene with the PUC once Brazos Electric files the proposed case. Mr. Pitcock discussed the TRIAD MEETING OCTOBER 3, 2016 PAGE ' possible impact on future school sites and expressed the District's desire to support the City through the process. 4. Update on Allen ISD STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Center. Mr. Pitcock provided an update on the design charrette process used for the STEAM Center. Ms. Wilhelm presented concepts plans and a video highlighting some of the design elements. The Center is anticipated to open in the Fall of 2018. 5. Update on Topics for 85n Legislative Session. Mr. Hawley and Dr. Zoeller provided an update on topics that may impact the City and District as part of the 85" Legislative Session. 6. Update on Emerging Issue — Mental Health. Dr. Preston provided an update on changes in Collin County mental health services and the impact on the District, students and families. She spoke to the value of the relationship with the Allen Police Department. 7. Update from the Allen -Fairview Chamber of Commerce. ' Ms. Mayer provided an update on the status of Chamber memberships. She reviewed activities and events held by the Chamber during the past year. Currently the Chamber is working towards accreditation in March 2017. S. Items of Interest. [Announcements Regarding Local Civic and Charitable Events, Meetings, Fundraisers and Awards] • Next TRIAD Meeting Date - Monday, April 3, 2017 — Allen ISD will host. • Community Announcements Adjournment. MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Brooks and a second by Mayor Pro Tem Caplinger, the Council voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the TRIAD Meeting at 7:49 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016.
