' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING THE FEES AUTHORIZED BY CHAPTER 3
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING ANIMAL CONTROL;
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish the fees and charges for Animal Control as authorized in
Chapter 3 of the Allen Code of Ordinances, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The charges and fees for Animal Services shall be as follows:
(a)
License Fee
(1)
Dog/Cat- sterilized $2.00
(2)
Dog/Cat- unsterilized $5.00
(3)
Guard Dog $20.00
(4)
Dangerous Dog $50.00
(5)
Miniature Swine $10.00
(6)
Replacement of lost or stolen registration $1.00
(7)
Animals owned by citizens sixty-five years

of age or older $1.00
(b)
Adoption
(1)
Dog/Cat - sterilized $40.00
(2)
Dog/Cat - unsterilized $10.00

(1)
Impoundment charges where impoundment occurs during regular
worlang hours shall be as follows:
Impound Charges - Within a one year period
(a) Class A: Dogs and cats:

Dogs and cats over the age of six (6) months shall be
charged the sterilization fee. Animals may be exempted
from sterilization upon written recommendation from a
licensed veterinarian that such alternatives would be harmful
or dangerous to the animal. Owners of these animals are to
be subject to the lower impoundment fee.
(b) Class B: Small livestock, such as: goats, sheep, lambs,
calves, foals, and animals of the same approximate size and

Impound Charges where impoundment occurs outside of regular
working hours shall be the cost of impoundment plus 10%.

Daily Handling/Boarding Fees:
(a) Class A $5.00/day
(b) Class B $10.00/day
(c) Class C $10.00/day
(d) Class D $10.00/day
(d) Disposition
of Animals
(1)
Euthanasia and disposal:
(a) Cats $10.00
(b) Dogs $10.00
(c) Dogs (25 lbs. and over) $20.00
(2)
With financial hardship cases, these fees may be waived in whole or
in part by the Chief of Police.
(e) Animal Quarantine
(1)
Shelter Quarantine $7.00 per day
(a) The owner of any animal held in quarantine for 10 days for
observation purposes shall be charged seven dollars ($7.00)
fm every day or fraction of a day an animal remains at the
City's Boarding Facility. This is in addition to any
impoundment fee.
(2)
Impounded animals cannot be released without proof of current
rabies vaccination.

(f) Miscellaneous Fees
' (1) Tmp Loan:
(a) Small Animal Traps $30.00 Deposit
(b) Large Size Traps $50.00 Deposit
(2) Any other costs incurred by the City and not included in the above
may be charged to the owner or adopting party.
SECTION 2. All provisions of any resolution of the City of Allen, Texas, in conflict with the provisions of
this resolution be, and the same is hereby, repealed, and all other provisions not in conflict with the
provisions of this resolution shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage.
