AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY TEXAS, APPROVING BASE FLOOD ELEVATIONS; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a hydraulic study was performed and report prepared entitled "Request for Letter of Map
Revision on Tributary 2G5 of Cottonwood Creek" and submitted to the Federal Emergency Management
Agency (FEMA) in February 1999;
WHEREAS, the hydraulic study on Tributary 2G5 of Cottonwood Creek shows an increase in the base
flood elevations immediately upstream of the Exchange Parkway culverts in excess of those permitted
under Section 60.3 (d)(3) of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations;
WHEREAS, there are no existing structures affected by this increase in base flood elevations;
WHEREAS, the City Council does hereby find that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Allen to accept and adopt these increases in base flood elevations, on Tributary 2G5, upstream of Exchange
Parkway.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into
the body of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in accordance with its
provisions of the Charter of the City of Allen, and it is accordingly so ordained.
