AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTIONS 659(a), 6.60.2 AND 6.60.3 OF
CHAPTER 6, "HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT", ARTICLE III, "SOLID
WASTE", OF THE ALLEN CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A REVISED
SCHEDULE OF RATES AND FEES FOR SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL AND
COLLECTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, has determined it necessary to establish new
rates reflecting the annual contract rate adjustment for Community Waste Disposal; and,
WHEREAS, the new rates are to be effective May 1, 1999.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That Section 6-59(a) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Allen, Texas, be, and the
same is hereby, amended to read as follows:
"Effective May 1, 1999, collection and removal of garbage from residential premises shall
' be made for a fee charge of seven dollars and sixty eight cents ($7.68) per residential unit
for each calendar month. Residential recycling shall be made for a fee charge of two
dollars and eighty five cents ($2.85) per residential unit for each calendar month."
SECTION 2: That Section 6-60.2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Allen, Texas, be, and the
same is hereby, amended to read as follows:
"Effective May 1, 1999, the minimum charge for commercial and institutional garbage
collections shall be nine dollars and thirty six cents ($9.36) per month. The contractor will
provide service and bill customers for all categories of collection for which fees are
established."
SECTION 3: That Section 6-60.3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Allen, Texas, be and the
same is hereby, amended to establish new rates and charges for solid waste collection and disposal and
recycling services effective May 1,1999, such rates and charges being more particularly enumerated in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made part hereof for all purposes.
SECTION 4: All ordinances of the City of Allen in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall
be, and the same are hereby, repealed; provided, however, all other provisions of said ordinance not in
conflict herewith shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately and the charges established hereby shall be
levied beginning May 1, 1999.
