A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE PROJECTS CONTAINED IN THE COLLIN
COUNTY BOND PROGRAM SCHEDULED FOR ELECTION ON FEBRUARY 20,
1999.
WHEREAS, the rapid growth throughout Collin County continues to strain physical public facilities, such as
roads and bridges, buildings, land and planning, parks and open space, and renovation of the old county
courthouse building; and,
WHEREAS, the economic, social and cultural well-being of the residents of the County depends on retaining
the necessary level of transportation, service facilities and open space as the County continues to develop; and,
WHEREAS, a committee of Collin County citizens, Collin County Bond Committee, evaluated the physical
needs of the County for the next five years and recommended a program of improvements to the
Commissioner's Court; and,
WHEREAS, the tax impact of the proposed program will be minimal, especially when compared to the
benefits of the improvements; and,
WHEREAS, the Commissioner's Court has called an election on February 20, 1999, so the voters of Collin
County can express their wishes conceming the proposed program of improvements.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City Council supports the proposed program of capital improvements for Collin County
and urges all citizens of the City to vote in the February election.
SECTION 2: The City Secretary shall send a copy of this resolution to all concerned parties.
