AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS,
AMENDING SECTIONS 6-59(a), 6-602 AND 6-613 OF CHAPTER 6, •HEALTH
AND ENVIRONMENT,' ARTICLE III, 'SOLID WASTE,' OF THE ALLEN
CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A REVISED SCHEDULE OF RAM
AND FEES FOR SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL AND COLLECTION AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, has determined it necessary to establish new
rates reflecting the annual contract rate adjustment for Community Waste Disposal; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, has determined it necessary to establish new
rates reflecting the annual land fill rate adjustment for North Texas Municipal Water District; and,
WBEIiEA.S, the new rates are to be effective July 1, 1998.
NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: Collection and removal of garbage from residential premises shall be made for a fee
charge of seven dollars and sixty cents ($7.60) per residential unit for each calendar month. Residential
recycling shall be made for a fee charge of two dollars and eighty cents ($2.80) per residential unit for
each calendar month.
' SECTION 2: The minimum charge for commercial and institutional garbage collections shall be nine
dollars and thirty cents ($9.30) per month. The contractor will provide service and bill customers for
all categories of collection for which fees are established. The rates to be charged and collected by the
contractor shall be in accordance with Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all
purposes.
SECTION 3: All ordinances of the City of Allen in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance
shall be, and the same are hereby, repealed; provided however, all other provisions of said ordinance
not in conflict herewith shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4: The rates and fees established in Sections 1 and 2 hereof shall be levied beginning July
1, 1998.
