The Called - Special Session of the Allen City Council was
called to order at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 1983, in
the Council Chambers of the Allen Municipal Annex, One Butler
Circle, Allen, Texas.
Public Hearing: FY 1983 - 84
Budget for the City of Allen (Agenda Item II)
Mayor Pierson advised all present that this meeting had
been called per the requirements of the Allen City Charter
to hold a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 1983 - 84
budget for the City of Allen.
Mayor Pierson opened the public hearing.
With no one wishing to speak before the Council on the
proposed FY 1983 - 84 budget, Mayor Pierson closed the public
hearing.
There was no action taken on this item.
Public Hearing: FY 1983 - 84
Revenue Sharing Funds Budget (Agenda Item III)
Mayor Pierson advised all present that this public hearing
was being held in accordance with the revenue sharing requirements.
Mayor Pierson opened the public hearing.
Mrs. Glenda Ford, 408 Coats Drive, spoke before the Council
on the Senior Citizens Organization request for the use of
revenue sharing funds and she presented the budget items for a
total of $5,545.00.
L' Mayor Pierson advised that the total of $5,545.00 had been
included in the proposed revenue sharing budget for the Senior
Citizens Organization.
Mrs. Ford suggested that the amount shown for payment of
the electricity bills at the Senior Citizens Center might need
to be increased.
Mayor Pierson advised Mrs. Ford that additional funds were
available from the general fund to cover additional costs, if
need be so that the revenue sharing proposal could remain the
same.
With no one else wishing to speak before the Council on the
proposed FY 1983 - 84 Revenue Sharing Funds Budget, Mayor Pierson
closed the public hearing.

There was no action taken on this item.
Mayor Pierson advised all present that the public hearing
on the tax rate had been scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 1983,
at 7:30 p.m.
Adjournment
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Mayor Pro Tem Farmer and seconded
by Councilman Womack, the Council voted 7 - 0 to
adjourn the called - special session at 7:10 p.m. The
motion carried.
These minutes approved on the 1st day of September
1983.
