A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, APPOINTING AN ACTING CITY MANAGER; SETTING
COMPENSATION FOR THE SAME; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Jonathan M. McCarty tendered, and the City Council accepted, his resignation from the
position of city manager, effective April 3, 1998; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes the transition period for the organization to be the most productive
and efficient possible, until a new city manager is appointed; and,
WHEREAS, the Council finds that Michael R. Stanger, an administrator for the City of Allen since 1985,
and the Assistant City Manager since 1996, is qualified and capable of managing the organization during
this period;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1: Michael R. Stanger is hereby appointed to the position of Acting City Manager until such
' time as the City Council appoints a new city manager or until the Council with cause removes Mr. Stanger
from such post.
SECTION 2: The compensation to Mr. Stanger shall be $6,500 per month, exclusive of standard
benefits, as long as he holds this position.
SECTION 3: The effective date of this appointment shall be April 3, 1998.
