' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, FINDING THAT ANNEXATION OF THE CITY INTO THE
NORTH TEXAS MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT TO BE IN THE INTEREST OF
THE CITY AND PETITIONING THE NTMWD TO ANNEX THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen (City) currently has contracts with the North Texas Municipal Water
District (NTMWD) for wholesale water, wastewater, and solid waste services; and
WHEREAS, the territory within the City has not been annexed to the NTMWD, the City is not now a
member city of NTMWD; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to be a member city of NTMWD; and
WHEREAS, the City acquires membership in NTMWD by having all the territory within the City annexed
by the NTMWD; and
WHEREAS, the City finds that annexation of the City to the NTMWD to be in the best interest of the City
and all of the territory within the City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' Section 1. The recitals herein are true and correct.
Section 2. Annexation of all of the territory within the corporate limits of the City is in the best interest of
such territory and the City.
Section 3. The City hereby petitions and requests the NTMWD to annex all of the territory within the City
thereby granting the City member status in the NTMWD, and, to take all steps necessary to accomplish
such annexation.
Section 4. The City Manager of the City is directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the
NTMWD and to take all steps necessary to accomplish the intent of this resolution.
