A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, ORDERING A JOINT ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON MAY 3, 1997, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING THREE (3)
MEMBERS, (PLACE NOS. 1, 3, AND 5), TO THE CITY COUNCIL TO
HOLD OFFICE FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS; DESIGNATING
LOCATION OF POLLING PLACE; ORDERING NOTICES OF ELECTION
TO BE GIVEN AS PRESCRIBED BY LAW IN CONNECTION WITH SUCH
ELECTION.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. An election is hereby ordered to be held jointly with the Allen Independent School District on
Saturday, May 3, 1997, for the purpose of electing three (3) City Councihnembers to fill the following expiring
terms on the Allen City Council: Place No. 1, Place No. 3, and Place No. 5, each such term being for a
period of two (2) years.
SECTION 2. The polling place where qualified voters shall cast ballots at such location in the City of Allen
1997 regular municipal election is as follows:

Allen, Texas
Election polls shall be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on the date of the election.
SECTION 3. Early voting by personal appearance shall be available weekdays at the Collin County
SubCourthouse, Main Early Voting Location, 920 East Park, Suite 251, Plano, Texas 75074; the Allen Public
Library, Two Allen Civic Plaza, Allen, Texas 75013; and the Collin County Courthouse Lobby, 210 South
McDonald Street, McKinney, Texas 75069 beginning on Monday, April 14, 1997 through Tuesday, April 29,
1997, during the normal working hours of 8:00 a.m. will 5:00 p.m.with extended early voting hours on
Thursday, April 24 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m, and Saturday, April 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Applications for ballot by mail shall be requested from and mailed to Bill Bilyeu, Collin County Elections
Administrator, 920 East Park Boulevard, Suite 120, Plano, Texas 75074. Applications for ballots by mad most
received no later than the close of business on April 25, 1997.
SECTION 4. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish and/or post, in the time and
manner prescribed by law, all notices required to be so published and/or posted in connection with the conduct
of this election. The Collin County Election contract shall designate the election judges for this joint election.
