Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
' With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
Committee was called to order by Chair Carroll at 6:03 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in
the Parks and Recreation Conference Room of Municipal Courts, Parks and Recreation Building
at 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
Action Items
L Approve minutes from the July 19, 2016, Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee
member Barry, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the July 19, 2016 regular meeting as presented.
Discussion Items
2. Update on Ford Pool Public Art Mosaic Project
Due to the construction project timeline, it is possible that installation of the mosaic project may
need to be delayed until the spring. The columns and the steel band are both in place, however to
minimize the chance for damage, it would be beneficial to wait until the majority of the project
construction is finished to complete the install.

3. Update on Future Projects
' The Governor's Community Achievement Award (GCAA) project is moving forward and a
selection panel will be formed in the near future. Due to the collective nature of the project the
committee will likely include members from Keep Allen Beautiful, the Community Development
Corporation and Public Art. At the next meeting two member appointments will be requested.
Matt McComb shared with the Committee that Watters Branch Community Park construction
was progressing and the project will hopefully be bidding in the next month. Artists May and
Watkins continue to move forward with design of the art elements.
