O-20-5-56AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE RATES AND
CHARGES OF THE SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY
WHEREAS, the service requirements of the citizens of Allen
may best be served by entendino the local calling area to include
calls to the McKinney exchange, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen has been ad-
vised that Southwestern Bell Telephone Company will, upon request
by the City Council of the City of Allen, so extend said local
calling area of the &llen exchange for outgoing calls only; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen hereby re-
quests that the aforesaid service arrangement be provided,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ALLEN:
Section 1: That upon extension of the local calling scope
of the Allen exchange to include calls to the McKinney exchange,
Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is authorized to charge for
Its service and equipment the same schedule of rates and charges
now or hereafter authorized for the McKinney exchange except that
the rate for a One Party Businees flat rate telephone shall be
V1.00 higher than that rate at McKinney, and the rate for a Ono
Party Residence telephone shall be $0.25 higher than that rate at
McKinney.
Section 2: All ordinances heretofore passed by the City
Council of the City of Allen establishing rates and charges for
telephone service except Ordinance # dated Janizary 6, 1956s
establishing a base rate area are hereby repealed effective with
the extension of the local calling scope of the Allen exchange to
include calls to the McKinney exchange of the Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company.
Section 3: Nothing in this ordinance contained shall be
construed now or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any man-
ner, the right and power of the city under the law to regulate
the rates and charges of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
