AN ORDINANCE PROVIDINIF SPEED LIMITS FOR VEHICLES ON THE
STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN ALLEN, TEXeS.
BE IT ORDAINED B'! THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN.
SECTION 1. No person shall drive a vehicle on any
street, alloy, highway, or read in the city of Allen, Texas
�. at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the
conditions then oxisting, having regard to actual and pot-
ential hazards with respect of pedestrians or other traffic
or by reason of weather or highway conditions. Where no
special hazard exists that requires a lower speed the legal
speed limit shall be thirty miles per hour.
SECTION 2. The speed limit in section one of this
ordinance shall not apply to limited access highways or
to through state highways when higher or lower speed limits
are legally designated by the State Highway department.
SECTION 3. Any peace officer is authorized to arrost
without a warrant any person found tiolating any provision
of this ordinance.
SECTION q. Any person convicted of violating any pro-
vision of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not
less than one dollar nor more than one Hundred Dollars.
