Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
Wi0r a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
Committee was called to order by Chair Benson at 6:03 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in the
' Parks and Recreation Conference Room, Municipal Courts, Parks and Recreation Building, 301
Century Parkway, Allen, Texas 75013.
1. Approve minutes from the February 21, 2017, Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Beanett and seconded by committee
member Barry, the committee voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the February 21, 2017 regular meeting as presented.
Discussion Items
2. Update on Current Projects
Ford Pool artist, Joshua Winer, plans to complete the mosaic installation the week of April 17,
2017. The art dedication will occur on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in conjunction with the Ford
Pool Re Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting.
The construction, artificial turf and artist fabrication and installation contracts for Watters Brunch
Community Park will likely go to City Council on April 11, 2017.
There are no new updates on GCAA project at this time.

3. Discussion on Future Projects

The design for Windridge Park is almost complete and staff is in the process of setting up a
meeting with the Boyd Elementary art teacher to determine if there is interest in participating
with this project.
The Committee discussed the potential future public art locations of the Allen Event Center and
the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium, noting some of the differences in the reach of the locations and
the need for possible additional structural information and assessment. Staff will follow up on
obtaining some additional details.
