ORDINANCE NO. 34186-6-17
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF "VENTURE DRIVE" BETWEEN
WAITERS ROAD AND U.S. 75 TO "GUARDIAN WAY" AS SHOWN ON EXHIBIT
"A"; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A
REPEALING CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, has deemed it appropriate to change
the name of"Venture Drive" between Watters Road and U.S. 75 to "Guardian Way"; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there are no residents on the existing "Venture Drive' at this time;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that renaming "Venture Drive' between Watters Road and U.S.
75 to "Guardian Way" is consistent with the Allen Land Development Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTIONI. The name of"Venture Drive' between Watters Road and U.S. 75 shall be changed to"Guardian
Way" as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto. The Traffic Engineer is directed to correct the maps and records
of the City to reflect the change in street name herein and to cause appropriate signage to be erected.
SECTION 2. Should any word, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this ordinance,
be adjudged orheld to be void or unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
of said ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. All ordinances of the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed; provided, however, that all other provisions of said
ordinances not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its adoption in accordance with the provisions of the
Charter of the City of Allen, and it is accordingly so ordained.
