' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL OF
GOVERNMENTS (NCTCOG) IN SERVING AS THE DESIGNATED RECIPIENT OF
THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION'S ENHANCED MOBILITY FOR
SENIORS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES PROGRAM (SECTION 5310)
FUNDS IN THE DALLAS -FORT WORTH METROPOLITAN AREA.
WHEREAS, on July 6, 2012, the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21°' Century Act (MAP -21) was signed
into federal law, reauthorizing surface transportation programs through fiscal year 2014; and,
WHEREAS, MAP -21 took effect on October 1, 2012 and modified various aspects of the Federal Transit
Administration's funding programs; and,
WHEREAS, under MAP -21, the Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program
(Section 53 10) no longer provides a single apportionment to the States, but instead provides apportionments
specifically for large urbanized areas; and,
WHEREAS, this new apportionment requires the designation of a single recipient to administer the program
in the Dallas -Fort Worth metropolitan area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
' COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Allen hereby supports the NCTCOG in serving as the
designated recipient of Section 5310 funds in the Dallas -Fort Worth metropolitan area.
SECTION 2. A copy of this Resolution shall be sent to Mr. Michael Morris, Director of Transportation for
the NCTCOG, P.O. Box 5888, Arlington, Texas 76005 who will subsequently send all letters and resolutions
to the Governor's Office along with a request for concurrence.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
