' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE TRANSITION FROM COLLIN COUNTY
AREA REGIONAL TRANSIT (CCART) TO TEXOMA AREA PARATRANSTT
SYSTEM, INC. (TAPS) FOR PARATRANSIT SERVICES IN THE CITY OF ALLEN.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen is located within the area designated by the US Census Bureau as the Dallas -
Fort Worth -Arlington Urbanized Area and is located beyond the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) service
area; and
WHEREAS, CCART is no longer a viable transportation provider for the cities in the Dallas -Fort Worth -
Arlington Urbanized Area and will discontinue providing service on July 1, 2013; and
WHEREAS, the North Central Texas Council of Governments' (NCTCOG) Regional Transportation Council
(RTC) took action at their Jane 13, 2013 meeting to support the transition of services from CCART to TAPS
in the portions of the Dallas -Fort Worth -Arlington Urbanized Area beyond the DART service area; and
WHEREAS, the RTC took action to support the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in funding
transit services for this region from July 1, 2013 to September 1, 2013 and to support using existing public
transportation funding to ensure that no passengers are stranded during the transition period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' SECTION 1. Texoma Area Pamtransit System, Inc. (TAPS) is hereby designated as the pamtrunsit service
provider in the City of Allen.
SECTION 2. Any prior Resolution of the City Council in conflict with the provisions contained in this
Resolution are hereby repealed and revoked.
SECTION 3. Should any part of this Resolution be held to be invalid for any reason, the remainder shall
not be affected thereby, and such remaining portions are hereby declared to be severable.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and it is so duly
resolved.
