Committee Members: Present: Steve Benson, Chair Susan Barry Jane Bennett Ann Carroll Denise Gilbert Tod Raines Absent: Sandy Wittsche City Staff: Matt McComb, Landscape Architect, Parks and Recreation Jennifer Robinson, Support Specialist, Parks and Recreation Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present ' With a quomm of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was called to order by Chair Benson at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the Parks and Recreation Conference Room, Municipal Courts, Parks and Recreation Building, 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas 75013. Action Items 1. Approve minutes from the April 18, 2017 Regular Meeting MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee member Barry, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept minutes from the April 18, 2017 regular meeting as presented. Discussion Items 2. Update on Current Projects Construction has begun on the Westside Community Park project. Renderings from May and Watkins will be presented at the Council Workshop on June 13 and the fabrication and installation contract is scheduled to go to City Council for approval on June 27. Jen reports that she spoke with Meridith McKinley of Via Partnership regarding the moral project at Windridge Park Meridith suggested going with an artist in residence to facilitate this project. She also shared a sample call and mural pricing estimate information. ' Engineering is sending to City Council a conceptual approach for their portion of the GCAA project on May 23. PUBLIC ART COMMITTE REGULAR MEETING MAY 16, 2017 ' The Ford Pool mosaic project is complete other than small grout touch up work that Joshua Winer will do when he is here for the art dedication. The dedication will take place on Thursday, May 25 at 6 p.m. 3. Discussion on Future Projects Matt reports that he is continuing to work with an architect to provide a reasonable rough proposal for the Allen Event Center Rotunda artwork specifications. 4. Board Evaluation Discussion Committee members will review the form and present their comments at the next meeting. 5.
