City Staff: Matt McComb, Landscape Architect, Parks and Recreation Jennifer Robinson, Support Specialist, Parks and Recreation Kevin Bates, Program Manager, Engineering Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present ' With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was called to order by Chair Benson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, in the Community Room, Municipal Courts, Parks and Recreation Building, 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas 75013. 1. Election of Officers Chair Benson opened nominations for the positions. After a short discussion, Member Bennett nominated the existing slate, Steve Benson as the Chair, Tod Raines as Vice -Chair, and Member Wittsche as Secretary. MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee member Carroll, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to elect Steve Benson to the office of Committee Chair, Tod Raines to the office of Vice - Chair and Sandy Wittsche to the office of Secretary. 2. Approve Minutes from the September 19, 2017 Regular Meeting MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee member Bennett, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept minutes from the September 19, 2017 regular meeting as presented. 1 1 PUBLIC ART COMMITTE REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 17, 2017 Discussion Items 3. Appoint Selection Panel for Windridge Park Seating Wall Project After taking input from the Committee, Chair Benson appointed Member Johnson and himself to serve on this Panel. Due to lack of applicants other Panel representatives will be appointed at the next meeting. 4. Update on GCAA Project Consultants representing Huitt-Zollards, MSA/Ourston, and DCBI Landscape Architecture were on hand to discuss the project at Allen Drive and US75. The consultants from Huitt-Zollards and MSA/Ourston shared plans of the proposed roundabouts and explained their benefits. DCBI Landscape Am6itecture will be handling the development of the Call to Artists for this project, so David Baldwin, Landscape Architect, discussed with the Committee the necessary elements to be included in the call and the selection process. 5. Update on Current Projects May and Watkins is working on the production of the sculptures and staff will request photos to share at a future meeting. The seating wall has been installed at Windridge Park and the construction is progressing as scheduled. 6. Discussion on Future Projects Staff is working with the consultant on gathering information and drawings necessary to begin the assessment on the Allen Event Center Rotunda. 7.
