With a quorum of the Council Members present, the called - special workshop
session of the Allen City Council was called to order by Mayor Farmer at 7.00 p.m.
on Tuesday February 7 1989 in the Conference Room of the Allen Municipal
Annex, One Butler Circle Allen, Texas
Update and Discussion on the Work Plan
of the Council Subcommittees for
Finance/Administration; Services; and
Development (Agenda Item II)
Mayor Farmer requested a report from the Finance/Administration
Subcommittee. At this time Councilman Womack distributed to the Council the
proposed policy for the use of city meeting room facilities. There was considerable
discussion and review of this policy Appropriate changes were made in various
aspects of the policy Councilman Womack advised that the appropriate changes
would be made by city staff and the policy would be brought forth at a future
Council meeting for approval.
Mayor Farmer requested a report from the Services Subcommission. At this
time Mayor Pro Tem Wilson reviewed with the Council the status of the work that
had been done on the paramedic program regarding the hiring of additional fire
fighter personnel, and the designation of a facility to provide for the medical
control of the city's paramedic program. Mayor Pro Tem Wilson advised of future
meetings with the North Texas Medical Center in McKinney and HCA Plano Hospital
in Plano in that regard.
Mayor Pro Tem Wilson also advised of the work the subcommittee is doing in
regards to the communications system purchased by the City of McKinney and the
opportunity for the City of Allen's Police and Fire Departments to join in with that
system for a reasonable cost.

Mayor Pro Tem Wilson advised the Council of the work of the Economic
Development Alliance on economic development and the survey being conducted by
the consultant firm of LWFW
The Council discussed various aspects of these topics.
Mayor Farmer then requested a report from the Development Subcommittee.
Councilman Wolfe advised the Council on the work of the update to the city's
Comprehensive Plan and the development of a survey document to send out to Allen
residents.

There were no items of interest to discuss by the Council at this time
Adjourn (Agenda Item IV)
With no further discussion, Mayor Farmer adjourned the called special
workshop session of the Allen City Council at 10:05 p.m. on Tuesday
February 7 1989
