Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
' Committee was called to order by Chair Benson at 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room of the Municipal Courts, Parks and Recreation Building,
301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas 75013.
Action Items
1. Approve Minutes from the November 21, 2017 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Gilbert, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the November 21, 2017 regular meeting as presented.
2. Approve Artist Recommendation for Windridge Park Seating Wall Project
Chair Benson gave the report from the Artist Selection Panel meetings and brought forth the
subcommittee's recommendation of artist, Jon David De Leon. The following motion was then
presented.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by cmmtrittee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Gilbert, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to approve
the recommendation of Jon David De Leon for the Windridge Park Seating Wall
Project, pending AISD background check approval.
' 3. Approve Artist Cell for GCAA Project
The Committee again reviewed the artist call for the GCAA project and made recommended
revisions before presenting the following motion.

' MOTION: Upon a motion made by conunittee member Carroll and seconded by committee
member Wittsche, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to
approve the Artist Call for the GCAA Project with noted revisions.
Discussion Items
4. Update on Current Projects
Spirit Park is scheduled to be completed in May and installation by May and Watkins is
tentatively scheduled fm April. It was noted that the timeframe may slide if the completion date
does. Current work in progress photos of the sculptures and benches were shared with the
Committee.
Marketing staff is in the process of creating the Gone Swimmin' page for the Allen Public Art
Guide.
5. Discussion on Future Projects
The architect has the necessary files for review and is in the process of completing the structural
assessment on the Allen Event Center Rotunda.
