SPECIAL CALLED WORKSHOP SESSION - 7:00 P.M.
With a quorum of the Councilmembers present, the Special Called Workshop of the
Allen City Council was called to order by Mayor Farmer at 7:05 p.m., on Monday,
September 9, 1991, in the council chambers of the Allen Municipal Annex Building, One
Butler Circle, Allen, TX 75002.
Information/Interaction Walk Through
(Agenda Item II)
Mayor Farmer stated that the purpose of the meeting was to preview the
presentations scheduled for the five Information/ Interaction sessions to begin on
September 11, 1991. Mayor Farmer reviewed the agenda for the Information/Interaction
sessions which included the following:
A. A call to order, introductory comments and introductions by Mayor Farmer
B. A review of the problem by Jon McCarty, City Manager, which would last 10
minutes.
C. A review of what has been done by David Pitstick, Economic Development
Coordinator, which would last approximately 15 minutes.

A statement of the New Opportunity - The Development Corporation Act by
Mayor Farmer which would last 15 minutes.
E. The group of assembled residents would then be broken into eight sub -groups
for discussion and individual resident interaction. This portion of the agenda
would last approximately 45 minutes.
Finally the citizens would take a short break and then reassemble for final
comments and feedback.
Mayor Farmer stated that each of the participants would walk through their
presentation and invited the Council to make comments and observations with the purpose
to refine the presentations. Jon McCarty, David Pitstick and Mayor Farmer made their
presentations and the Council provided specific comments on the individual presentations,
as well as how the citizen interaction sessions would be handled.
Subcommittee Reports (Agenda Item III)
Councilmembers briefly discussed the work of the Subcommittees.
Items of Interest (Agenda Item IV)
There was no further business to discuss.
Set Next Meeting Date (Agenda Item V)
A meeting date for the next Quarterly Workshop Session was not scheduled at this
time.
Adiourn (Agenda Item VI)
The Quarterly Workshop Session of the Allen City Council was adjourned at 9:40
p.m., on Monday, September 9, 1991.
