VAUGHAN ELEMENTARY 820 COTTONWOOD Present: Joe Farmer, Mayor Councilmerrbers• Kevin Lilly, Mayor Pro Tem David Kerr David Bishop Mike Nichols Steve Terrell (absent) Sharon Hamner City Staff: Jon McCarty, City Manager ii Judy Morrison, City Secretary Call to Order and Ooenine Remarks - Mayor Farmer (Agenda Item 1) With a quorum of the Councilmembers present, the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Community Information Meeting of the Allen City Council was called to order by Mayor Farmer at 7:10 p m. on Thursday, June 9, 1994, in the Cafetorium of the Vaughan Elementary School, 820 Cottonwood, Allen, Texas Mayor Farmer presented background information regarding the development of the Capital Improvement Program and the subsequent election to be held on June 25, 1994. Introductions - Mayor Farmer (Agenda Item II) Mayor Farmer introduced Jim Wolfe, Chair of the CIP Steering Committee and "Allen Beyond Tomorrow" Citizens Committee. Mr Wolfe explained what the CIP Steering Committee and the Citizens Committee have accomplished and their desire to inform the citizens of Allen what the "Allen Beyond Tomorrow" intends to accomplish. Mr. Wolfe invited those in the audience to help themselves to the yard signs, brochures, badges and the information provided. ALLEN CITY COUNCIL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) COMMUNITY INFORMATION MEETING JUNE 9, 1994 PAGE 2 Presentation - Jeff Cocldne "Allen Beyond Tomorrow" Citizens Committee (Agenda Item III) Mr. Cocking provided a slide show covering each of the propositions along with actual voting information. The audience was apprised of the additional meetings to be held on Tuesday, June 14, and Wednesday, June 15. They were also solicited to vote "YES" in the program and to show their support by any monetary donations they were able to give. Ouestions and Responses - Council. Citizen Committee & Staff (Agenda Item IV) Mayor Farmer, Council and Staff fielded questions from the audience regarding the presentation.
