Min - City Council - 1996 - 01/31 - CalledI I CITY OF ALLEN ANNEXATION PUBLIC HEARING JANUARY 31, 1996 Present: City Staff: Joe Farmer, Mayor (absent) Bill Petty, Director of Community Kevin Lilly, Mayor Pro Tem Development David Kerr Judy Morrison, City Secretary Doug Gallagher (absent) Mike Nichols Steve Terrell David Bishop (absent) In accordance with V T.C.A., Local Government Code, Chapters 42 and 43, the public hearing was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Lilly at 10:19 a in. on Wednesday, January 31, 1996, in the Council Chambers of the Allen Municipal Annex, One Butler Circle, Allen, Texas. Bill Petty, Director of Community Development, advised of the timeliness of this annexation proceeding due to the growth of the City and expected growth of the City in the southwest quadrant. This annexation proceeding will incorporate all the parcels of land in the southwest side of the City that is now outside the City limits. It entails 34 parcels with a total number of 1153.849± acres and 13 property owners. Mr. Petty also reviewed the Service Plan in conjunction with this annexation including hard services such as water and sanitary sewer and soft services such as animal control, police and fire protection and solid waste Mayor Pro Tem Lilly opened the public hearing. No one appeared to speak either for or against this annexation request. Charles Fitzgerald, 1920 Hedgcoxe, Plano. Texas, was present at the public hearing but did not wish to speak at this time. Mayor Pro Tem Lilly closed the public hearing The public hearing was adjourned at 10:38 a.m. MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Kerr and a second by Councihnember Nichols, the Council voted four (4) for and none (0) opposed to close the public hearing.
