With a quorum of the members present, the Triad Meeting was called to order by Steve Terrell, Mayor, Allen City Council, John Garcia, President, Allen ISD Board of Trustees, and Izzie Waller, Chair, Chamber Executive Committee, at 6 20 p in. on Monday, January 14, 2002, in the Meeting Room at the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium, located at 1100 Rivercrest Boulevard, Allen, Texas TRIAD REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 14, 2002 PAGE 2. Briefing Regarding the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium. Don Horton, Director of Parks and Recreation, City of Allen, welcomed everyone to the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium and encouraged everyone to tour the facility after the meeting. 3. Update Regarding the Allen ISD State of the Schools. Jenny Preston, Superintendent, Allen ISD, discussed items now being addressed. school funding, review of services, categorization of critical pathway to graduation, critical needs assessment, upcoming bond election, and project bids. 4. Update Regarding the Community Incentive Program for Drug Free Youth (D -FY -IT Program). Jenny Preston, Superintendent, Allen ISD, asked that we not act on this item at the present time since funding is not available. Once funding is available, we can instigate the program. 5. Update Regarding the New Schools' Construction and Locations. Bobby Curtis, Executive Director of Facilities, Allen ISD, reported that 13 elementary sites have been purchased with 6 more to be purchased. Four of five middle school sites have been purchased. 6. Update Regarding the Chamber of Commerce 2002 Program of Work, Sharon Mayer, President, Chamber of Commerce, reported that a long-range planning committee will be chaired by Bob Rothe. The Chamber intends to communicate more with its members Several task forces will be established to address various needs and activities of the Chamber. 7. Items of Interest. • Next Triad meeting —Monday, May 13, 2002/Chamber of Commerce will host Items to be included on the next agenda Lovejoy update Partnership update (school, city, etc.) Reminders: Tuesday, January 15, 2002, at 6:30 p.m. - elected officials foram May 4" Springfest and Fun Run 8. Adjourn. The Allen City Council, Allen ISD Board of Trustees and the Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee voted to adjourn the Triad Meeting at 7:18 p.m on Monday, January 14, 2002.
