Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present
With a quorum of the Councilmembers present, the Special Called Meeting of the Allen City Council was
called to order by Mayor Terrell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, in the Council Chambers of the Allen
City Hall, Allen Civic Plaza, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.

Election Held on May 31, 2003
Canvass of Election Returns.
City Secretary Shelley George reviewed for the City Council the election returns for the City Council
Runoff Election of Councdmember Place No. 3. She distributed and reviewed handout materials
including early voting totals, election day totals, and the combined election day. She also reviewed
voting statistics including the number of registered voters, 31,336, and 1,050 total votes, which
indicated a 3.35% voter turnout. The totals verified the following results:

Approve a Resolution Declaring the Results of the Runoff Election.
RESOLUTION NO. 2173-6-03(R): A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE RUNOFF
ELECTION OF THE CITY OF ALLEN HELD ON MAY 31, 2003, FOR CITY
COUNCD.MEMBER PLACE NO. 3, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
MOTION: Upon a motion by Councilmember Stout and a second by Councilmember McGregor, the
Council voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to approve Resolution No. 2173-6-03(R) as
previously captioned. The motion carred.

MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Stout and a second by Councilmember Bartlemay,
the Council voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the Special Called Meeting of
the Allen City Council at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003. The motion carred.
