Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the Members present, the Allen City Council Special Called Joint Workshop Meeting with
the Allen Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors was called to order by Mayor Terrell, in
conjunction with Vice -President Bartlemay, at 638 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, in the Council
Conference Room at Allen City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
1. Presentation regarding Legal Overview of the AEDC and use of Type A Sales Tax Funds.
Mr. Smith provided a legal overview of the AEDC Board of Director's role and responsibilities along
with a briefing on the use of Type A sales tax funds under Texas jaw
2. Discussion of relationship, coordination and communication between the City of Allen and the
AEDC.
Discussion was held regarding the coordination of communication between the City Council and
Board of Directors.
3. Discussion of City of Allen Strategic Economic Development Goals.
Discussion was held on this item. A copy of the City's Strategic Economic Development Goals and
AEDC Work Plan was distributed for the City Council's and Board of Director's reference.
Adjournment.
Mayor Terrell, in conjunction with Vice -President Bartlemay, adjourned the Allen City Council Special
Called Workshop Meeting with the Allen Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors at
8 30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012
