Special Called Meeting

Johnson, Russ Bratcher, Bob Outman
Members Absent: None
I. Chairman Ron Workman called the meeting to order
at 7:30 p.m.
II. Consider recommendation to the City Council con-
cerning the appointment of the new Parks and
Recreation Director.
City Manager, Jon McCarty, introduced the new
Parks and Recreation Director Designee, Mark
Thornton to the Board. Thornton made a brief
statement about his personal and professional
background. The Board began with questions
which covered many subjects and issues in
Parks and Recreation in Allen as well as in
general. After all the Board members had
completed their questions, Thornton was dismissed
and his recommendation to the City Council for
appointment was discussed.
Upon discussion, it was a general consensus of the
Board that Mark Thornton be recommended to the
City Council for appointment as the new Parks and
Recreation Director for the City of Allen.
MOTION: A motion was made by Bob Outman, seconded
by Russ Bratcher, recommending the Allen
City Council to confirm Mr. Mark Thornton
as the new Parks and Recreation Director
for the City of Allen. Motion carried
5 for, 0 opposed.
There being no further items,
MOTION: There was a motion made, and seconded, to
adjorn. Motion passed 5 for, 0 opposed
