Parks and Recreation Board
Minutes
June 25, 1981
Members Present: Wendell Housley, David Morgan, Ron Workman,
Helen Johnson, Jerry Owens.
I. Meeting was called to order by Wendell Housley.
II. Minutes from May 28, 1981, regular meeting and June
11, 1981, special session were approved with corrections.
III.
A. The Director presented a plan for a City-wide work
day, in response to some request that this work day
be provided for the citizens. The plan called for
joint leadership from the Parks and Recreation
Board and Allen Sports Association Board. The work to
be accomplished are jobs such as painting the con-
cession stand, repairing bleachers, dirt work, in-
stalling a fence and other maintenance jobs, The
date was set for July 25, 1981, at 8 A.M..
B. The Board was given the letter giving the go-ahead
on Reed Park from the Texas Park and Wildlife De-
partment.
C. Site for Fall soccer fields were discussed and then
tabled until further information was obtained.
D. The Director presented the Board with a final draft
of the Park and Recreation Boards By -Laws. The
Board reviewed the By -Laws, made corrections and re-
quested the staff to have the By -Laws to be retyped.
Then requested that the By -Laws be sent to the City
Council for their approval.
E. The Director notified the Board of the Foreman's re-
signation after working only 3 months.
IV. Motion was made to adjourn by Helen Johnson, second by Jerry
Owens. Motion carried 5 yes, 0 no.
