Special Called Workshop
July 18, 1983 7:30 P.M.
Allen Municipal Annex
PRESENT: Ron Workman, David Morgan, Helen Johnson, Bob
Outman
CITY STAFF: Mark Thornton, Director of Parks and Recrea-
tion and Jon McCarty, City Manager
I. Chairman, Ron Workman, called the meeting to order
at 7:30pm.
II. Review Final Draft of the Rowlett Creek RFP
The board reviewed the final draft of the RFP. After
lengthy discussion of the outline, several additions
were made.
The board also discussed with City Manager, Jon McCarty,
the schedule of events which should take place after
final approval. This schedule would be discussed at
the next meeting.
Direction was given to Director, Mark Thornton, to
investigate the cost of the brochure and 100, 200
and 500 copies.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Bob Outman and seconded
by David Morgan, the final draft was approved
with the revisions discussed. Vote 9 for,
0 opposed.
III. Review Plans for the Development of Rolling Hills and
Walden Parks
The board began discussion of Rolling Hills Park and
whether each item listed by staff was needed. After
lengthy discussion, it was decided that Thornton
would bring the design and estimate on the bridge,
and possibly an alternative to a Big Toy play appara-
tus. Helen Johnson said she would survey the neigh-
borhood families to see exactly what they preferred.

MOTION: Upon a motion made by Bob Outman and seconded
by David Morgan, the board voted to adjourn.
Vote 4 for, 0 opposed.
