MINUTES
ALLEN PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 12, 1983 7:30 P.M.
ALLEN MUNICIPAL ANNEX
PRESENT: Ron Workman, Helen Johnson, Russ Bratcher
CITY STAFF: Mark Thornton
I. Ron Workman called the meeting to order at 8:30 pm.
II. Approval of Minutes
MOTION: There was a motion made by Russ Bratcher and
and seconded by Helen Johnson to approve the
minutes as read. Vote: 3 for, 0 opposed.
III. Directors Report
A. Director, Mark Thornton reminded the Board of the
joint meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission
on September 19, 1983 to review the Rowlett Creek
RFP.
B. Thornton informed the Board that funding and develop-
ment of Rolling Hills Park had been approved and construction
would begin as soon as possible.
IV. Review Information to Develop Park Standards for the Land
Acquisition Policy
Thornton presented to the Board various handouts on information
regarding the park standards of other cities and states,
which would assist the Board in the development of standards
for Allen.
Thornton asked the board to study the information for future
meetings when they would begin working on policy for standards.
V. There being no further business
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Helen Johnson and seconded
by Russ Bratcher, the board voted to adjourn.
Vote: 3 for, 0 opposed.
