PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
JANUARY 30, 1984 7:30 P.M.

Mark Thornton, Director of Parks and Recreation
I. Call to Order.
II. Review the Preliminary Draft of the Land Acquisition Policy.
Director Mark Thornton presented a draft of the Land
Acquisition Policy to the Park Borad for review. Thornton
discussed the organization of the draft and pointed out
the changes and additions that were made. The Board dis-
cussed the policy and several comments were made. Thornton
pointed out the "methods and procedures" section of the
policy which was a major addition. Chairman Ron Workman
agreed to this portion, however, wanted it mentioned that
a plan should be developed which would establish a time
schedule for acquisition.
Thornton told the board that he would present another draft
which would include their comments at their meeting in
February.
No action was taken.
III. Update on the Rowlett Creek Corridor Study.
Chairman Ron Workman informed the Board that as of this
meeting the committee he would set up had not been able
to meet. Thornton also added that the scheduled luncheon
with Margaret McDermott for February 11, had been postponed.
No action was taken.
IV. Adjourn.

MOTION: There was a motion made by Bob Outman and seconded by
Helen Johnson to adjourn, motion carried 4-0.
