Min - Planning and Zoning Commission - 1980 - 10/09 - RegularRegular Meeting Allen Planning & Zoning October 9, 1980 Presiding: Jim Pendleton Attending: Carol Henry, Jim Wolfe, Joe Moseley, Sarah Chumbley, Wayne Armand. Minutes read of the September 11, 1980, regular meeting. Motion Carol Henry to approve, Second Wayne Armand. Motion carried 6 for 0 against. Administer Oath of Office to new member, Tom Inkman. Mr. Inkman was unable to attend meeting. Wayne Armand made Motion to accept resignation of Roger Powell, Second Joe Moseley. Motion carried 6 for 0 against. Set date for public hearing on request from V. F. Henfer and Gary Hefner to rezone7,3 acres being a part of the Peter Fisher Survey, Patent No. 1000, Volume 9, Abstract #324 from its present classification of R2 to f General Industrial. Motion Carol Henry to set date of November 3, 1980 (next regular meeting), Second Jim Wolfe. Motion carried 6 for 0 against. Public hearing on a request for a site plan approval to develop and construct mini warehouses on 2.658 acres in the M. See Survey, Tract 4D, Abstract #543 and presently zoned OC -PD. Mr. Ronnie Crockett and Eric Wisberg spoke in behalf of the project. Motion Carol Henry to accept site plan with provision Mr. Crockett fulfills items mentioned in letter addressed to him from Allen City Manager Jon McCarty. Second Wayne Armand. Motion carried 6 for 0 against. Joe Verdoorn with Myrick, Newman, Dahlberg and Partners of Dallas presented their land planning study on the property owned by Dis- tinctive Homes, Inc., and located south of Keith Drive, west of Highway 5 and north of Bethany Road. Several of the property owners in that area spoke against Myrick, Newman, Dahlberg and Partners' recommendation for use of the land. The property owner withdrew his original submission and indicated that we would possibly resubmit at a later date a proposal to comply with the land planning study of Myrick, Newman, Dahlberg and Partners; therefore, no action was taken by the P&Z Commission. Considered final plat as preliminary and final plat on Timberbend II. A variance on side yard specifications on 11 lots along Allen Heights Drive was granted. Motion Jim Wolfe to accept plat as presented. Second Carol Henry. Motion carried 6 for 0 against. Considered final plat as preliminary and final plat for Bethany Park Apartments. The owners asked for a waiver of alley requirements. Motion Jim Wolfe to approve the waiver requirements for alleys and the property owner to pay their portion of the pro rata share for the paving of Bethany Road. Second Sarah Chumbley. Motion carried 6 for 0 against. Motion Joe Moseley to adjourn. Second Carol Henry.
