Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present,the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was
called to order by Chair Benson at 6:04 p.m.on Tuesday,November 27,2018, in the Parks and
Recreation Conference Room of the Municipal Courts,Parks and Recreation Building,301 Century
Parkway,Allen,Texas 75013.
Action Items
1. Approve Minutes from the October 16,2018 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee
member Bennett,the Committee voted five(5)for and none(0)opposed to
accept minutes from the October 16,2018 regular meeting as presented.
2. Appoint Allen Event Center Rotunda Artist Selection Panel
After discussion regarding the possible candidates the following motion was brought forth.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Carroll,the Committee voted five(5)for and none(0)opposed to
appoint Tod Raines,Denise Gilbert,John Holley,Eric Ellwanger,Miriam
Engstrom,Nadia Siddiqi and one additional resident to be determined to the
Allen Event Center Rotunda Artist Selection Panel.

3. Update on Current Projects

REGULAR MEETING
November 27,2018
The call for the Allen Event Center Rotunda project is open through December 10. Only one
response has been received to date,but more will likely be received closer to the deadline. If
responses are low,then an extension of the deadline will be brought back to the Committee.
No further updates on the GCAA project at this time.
4. Discussion on Future Projects
Matt McComb presented information on a potential future opportunity in conjunction with
Project Peace,Love and Be a Kind Kid. The Committee agreed to meeting with the group at the
December meeting.
5. Items of Interest(announcements regarding local civic and charitable events, meetings,
fundraisers,and awards)
