Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present,the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was
called to order by Chair Benson at 6:03 p.m.on Tuesday,October 16,2018,in the Parks and Recreation
Conference Room of the Municipal Courts,Parks and Recreation Building, 301 Century Parkway,Allen,
Texas 75013.
Action Items
1. Election of Officers
Chair Benson opened nominations for the positions. After a short discussion,Member Bennett
nominated the slate of Tod Raines as Chair, Sandy Wittsche as Vice-Chair,and Crisite Johnson
as Secretary.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee
member Carroll,the committee voted six(6)for and none(0)opposed to elect
Tod Raines to the office of Committee Chair, Sandy Wittsche to the office of
Vice-Chair and Cristie Johnson to the office of Secretary.
2. Approve Minutes from the September 18,2018 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee
member Johnson,the Committee voted six(6) for and none(0)opposed to accept
minutes from the September 18,2018 regular meeting as presented.
3. Appoint Allen Event Center Rotunda Artist Selection Panel
After discussion regarding the number of panel members and possible candidates the item was
tabled until potential candidates can be contacted regarding availably.

4. Update on Current Projects
The Spirit Park art dedication and park grand opening on October 6 was well attended and the
artists enjoyed being a part of the event. All art pieces are installed and functional. Interpretative
signs will be installed in the near future.
The design contract for the GCAA project is scheduled to go before City Council for approval in
November so further updates should be available following the execution of that contract.
5. Discussion on Future Projects
Discussion on future projects was tabled until current projects are further underway.
