Min - Planning and Zoning Commission - 1982 - 08/12 - RegularALLEN PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 12, 1982 Present• Commissioners: Jim Pendleton, Chairman Jim Wolfe, Vice Chairman Gary Koch, Secretary Larry Larsen Robert Glass Winston Stallings Absent• Jack Decatur �1 City Staff: Bill Petty, Building Official Sherry Massett, Permit Clerk The regular meeting of the Allen Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order by Chairman Pendleton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 1982, at Rountree Elementary School, 800 E. Main Street. Approval of Minutes; July 22, 1982 (Agenda Item II) MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Wolfe and second by Commissioner Larsen, the Commission voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept the minutes of July 22, 1982, as presented. The motion carried. Action Related to City Acceptance of Osgood Update of Planning District #4 to the City of Allen's Comprehensive Plan Chairman Pendleton read the request into the record as follows: "Request by Planning and Zoning Commission for action related to city acceptance of Osgood update to Planning District No. 4 of the City of Allen's Comprehensive Plan." -115- i C ALLEN PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION AUGUST 12, 1982 PAGE 2 Bill Petty, Building Official, explained to the Commission what a Comprehensive Plan is and how it is utilized by the city. He further explained why the update to Planning District #4 was done. There was some discussion as to whether everyone on the Commission understood Osgood's update. Since there are new members on the Commission, it was decided that some time should be given for all Commissioners to study the update to see if they have any questions. MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Wolfe and second by Commissioner Koch, the Commission voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to table this item until the next regular meeting. The motion carried. General Discussion: The Commission wanted to know the status of the budget items they requested. There was some discussion over law suits against different cities for some zoning decisions. Bill Petty, Building Official, gave the Commission some information on a Planning Seminar being held in Abilene, Texas. Adjournment: MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Wolfe and second by Commissioner Glass, the Commission voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the regular meeting of the Allen Planning and Zoning Commission at 9:43 p.m. The motion carried.
