Chairman Pendleton read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Workshop as requested by Tim Tompkins on 400 acres west of Allen
Heights and south of Park Place Drive."
Tim Tompkins, developer presented the request to the Commission.
J.T. Dunkin presented the guide lines of the project. He presented the
Site Analysis with the characteristics of the project. He also presented
the Land Use Plan and the Concept Plan of the Shopping Center area.
Concerns of the Commission were of the buffering of the existing
homeowners with acreage along the dirt road along the single family
proposed area, too many Garden Homes proposed, Multi -Family density
too high, and the mixture too low of proposed dwellings.
Jack Pennington pointed out that he would be abstaining from this
item because of conflict of interest in that he owns some adjoining
property to this proposal.
The Commission was looking for more balance in the proposal and
more mixture of dwelling units and size.
Concensus of the Commission was to continue the Workshop Meeting at
the end of the Regular Meeting on February 23, 1984.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
