A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR
TERMINATE GRANT#3795201 FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS,OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION PROVIDING FUNDING FOR AN
ENHANCED CRIME VICTIM SERVICES PROGRAM, IF AWARDED; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS,the City of Allen,and its Police Department, respond to reports of crime which involve residents,
businesses and visitors who are victims of crime; and,
WHEREAS,the City of Allen Police Department has recognized the needs of these victims by providing advocate
services to assist them through these often-time traumatic events, through the criminal court process, and with
obtaining counseling services and financial aid,if needed; and,
WHEREAS,the City of Allen Police Department believes that by enhancing the crime victim services we already
offer we will be able to better serve victims of crime with emergency housing and counseling sessions for groups
and individuals; and,
WHEREAS,the City of Allen has agreed to provide matching funds,cash or in-kind,to fund and enhanced Crime
Victim Services Program, as it appears in the grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY,TEXAS,THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Allen has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division
Funds for the Criminalist Grant will be returned to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice
Division in full.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept,reject,alter, or terminate this grant
from the State of Texas,Office of the Governor,Criminal Justice Division to assist the City of Allen and the Allen
Police Department to fund an enhanced crime victim services program.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in accordance with the
provisions of the Charter of the City of Allen, and it is accordingly so resolved.
