A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING ANIMAL CONTROL FEES AND CHARGES;
PROVIDING FOR A REPEALING CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Code of Ordinances of the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, authorizes the City Council, by
resolution to establish fees and charges for animal control.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY,TEXAS,THAT:
SECTION 1. The following fees and charges are hereby established Animal Control Charges:
ANIMAL CONTROL
(1) License fees: 1 Yr/2Yr/3 Yr
Dog/cat/ferret—sterilized.......................................................................................................$10/$15/$20
Dog/cat/ferret—unsterilized...................................................................................................$35/$45/$50

ServiceDog/Police Dog........................................................................................................................$0.00
Exemption for city registration fees:
No fee may be charged for a registration issued for any dog actually used by a person with disabilities
who utilizes the dog as a service animal to aid the person in going from place to place within the city.
No fee may be charged for a registration issued for any dog that is owned and used by any law
enforcement agency for drug awareness, drug or bomb detection, or any other law enforcement
purpose.
(2) Adoption fees:

At the discretion of the Animal Control Supervisor, not more than four times per year and to reduce
overcrowding,the shelter can offer animals for adoptions for a reduced price of not less than 50%.
(3) Impoundment:
a. Impoundment charges where impoundment occurs during regular working hours shall be as
follows:

SECTION 2. All provisions of any resolution of the City of Allen,Texas, in conflict with the provisions of
this resolution be, and the same is hereby, repealed,and all other provisions not in conflict with the provisions
of this resolution shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage.
