Committee Members: Present: Sandy Wittsche,Chair Saundra Midkiff Jane Bennett • Ann Carroll Absent: Steve Benson Denise Gilbert Tod Raines City Council Liaison: Chris Schulmeister City Staff: Matt McComb,Park Planning,Development&Forestry Manager,Parks and Recreation Jennifer Robinson, Strategic Projects Manager,Parks and Recreation Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present With a quorum of the committee members present,the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was called to order by Chair Wittsche at 6:02 p.m. on Tuesday,April 20, 2021, in the Multipurpose Room of the Allen Senior Recreation Center,451 St.Mary Drive,Allen, Texas 75002. Action Items • 1. Approve Minutes from the March 16,2021 Regular Meeting MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee member Carroll,the committee voted four(4)for and none(0)opposed to accept minutes from the March 16,2021 regular meeting as presented. Discussion Items 2. Update on Current Projects a. Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Staff shared that the project was presented at Council Workshop on April 13,2021. Director Meacham shared with Council the concept presentation. Staff liaisons to the Public Art Committee, as well as artist Erik Carlson,were present to take questions.The item is scheduled to go to City Council for formal approval on April 27,2021.Pending approval,the anticipated installation will occur late 2021. 3. Discussion on Future Projects PUBLIC ART COMMJTTE REGULAR MEETING APRIL 20,2021 In following the guidelines of the Allen Public Art Master Plan 2016,the Committee considered several future opportunities for Public Art projects including the future Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center,Rolling Hills Park,Allen Public Library,Roundabouts,Heritage Village,Dog Park, and Molsen Farm. Staff reviewed project timing of several projects and the Committee will discuss further at the next meeting. 4. Discuss Board Evaluation Councilmember Schulmeister briefed the Committee of potential term limits for Committee members. After consensus from the Committee, Chair Wittsche will collect comments from Committee regarding the Board Evaluation and will compile for review at the next meeting. 5. Items of Interest(announcements regarding local civic and charitable events,meetings, fundraisers,and awards) a. Items for Future Agendas Appoint Vice Chair,review Board Evaluation and discussion of future projects. b. Next Meeting: Tuesday,May 18,2021 6.
