Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present,the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was
called to order by Chair Raines at 6:00 p.m.on Tuesday,January 15, 2019, in the Parks and Recreation
Conference Room of the Municipal Courts,Parks and Recreation Building, 301 Century Parkway,Allen,
Texas 75013.
Action Items
1. Approve Minutes from the November 27,2018 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Carroll and seconded by committee
member Benson,the Committee voted five(5)for and none(0)opposed to
accept minutes from the November 27,2018 regular meeting as presented.
Discussion Items
2. Project Peace,Love and Be a Kind Kid
A group affiliated with Jenny Preston Elementary presented to the Committee a potential future
project. The project involved antibullying themed artwork proposed to be placed on the
underpass near the school.
3. Update on Current Projects
The Artist Selection Panel for the Allen Event Center Rotunda Project will be meeting on January
23,2019 to review and narrow the submissions.

The Gateway project is moving forward.The Engineering Department is managing the civil part
of the project and Parks and Recreation is handling the landscape portion.There will likely be
additional information to report at an upcoming meeting.
4. Discussion on Future Projects
The possible Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium project is still being considered and discussions will
resume on that as soon as current projects are further along.
