Consent Agenda (Routine Board business: Consent Agenda is approved by a single majority vote. Items may be removed for open discussion by a request from a Board member or member of staff.) 1. Approve minutes from the April 5,2021,Regular Meeting. Motion: Upon a Motion by 1st Vice-Chair Gillis and a second by Board Member Kathuria, the Board voted 5 IN FAVOR and 0 OPPOSED,to approve the Consent Agenda,as presented with one change to page 2 to correct a spelling error in the Election of Officers paragraph. The motion carried. Regular Agenda 2. Board of Adjustment Public Hearing—Conduct a Public Hearing and consider a request for a variance to maximum size of a temporary accessory building for a public school permitted in Allen Land Development Code Sec. 6.04.2.4.e. pursuant to the Board's authority under Allen Land Development Code Sec. 2.02.2.2 for Lot 1, Block A, Thomas Hugh Ereckson Middle School, and more commonly known as 450 Tatum Drive, Allen, Texas; generally located approximately 153± feet north of Alma Drive and directly west of Tatum Drive.(BOA-070621-0001) [Ereckson Middle School] Mr. Kurbansade, Director of Community Development, presented the item to the Commission. He noted that staff is in support of the item. Board of Adjustment Sign Control Board Building Standards Commission July 19,2021 Page 2 Chair Stocker opened the Public Meeting. Daniel Pitcock, Applicant,612 E.Bethany Drive,Allen,Texas 75002,gave a summary of the request on behalf of Allen Independent School District. With no one speaking,Chair Stocker closed the public hearing. The Commission discussed: • Proximity to residential area; • Fencing requirements; • Building location; • Fire protection requirements; and • Timeline of renovations for the subject property. Motion: Upon a Motion by Board Member Kathuria and a second by Board Member Howard, the Board voted 5 IN FAVOR and 0 OPPOSED, to the request to permit the variance from the maximum size of a temporary accessory building for a public school for the property located at 450 Tatum Drive,Allen,Texas,for Ereckson Middle School. The motion carried. Executive Session(As Needed) Executive Session was not held. - Adjournment Motion: Upon a Motion by Board Member Lundgren, and a second by 1st Vice-Chair Gillis, the Board voted 5 IN FAVOR and 0 OPPOSED to adjourn at 7:20 p.m. The motion carried.
