Call to Order
With a quorum of the Board members present,the Regular Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board
was called to order by Chair Smith at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2021, via video conference.
1. Approve Minutes of the March 17,2021,Regular Meeting.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Ponder and a second by Board Member
Ahmad, the Board voted six(6) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the minutes.
2. Receive Financial Report.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Chisholm and a second by Board Member
McIntosh, the Board voted seven(6) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the Financial
Report.The motion carried.
3. Receive Update on KAB Event and Projects.
• Beautify Texas Awards—March 25, 2021 —Andrea Smith and Josue Diaz discussed the
award winners.
• Great American Cleanup—April 17, 2021 —Josue Diaz discussed event results.
• Allen Foundation for Schools Scholarship Reception—April 21, 2021 —Josue Diaz
discussed the scholarship reception.
• Allen USA—June 26, 2021 —Josue Diaz discussed the event details.
• Keep Texas Beautiful Online Conference—June 29—July 1, 2021 —Andrea Smith
discussed the conference.
• Litter Index—July 17, 2021 —Josue Diaz discussed summer date.
• Educator Expo—September 28, 2021 —Andrea Smith described the event.
• Waste Works Awards— September 30, 2021 —Andrea Smith and Donna Kliewer
explained the awards.
4. Discuss Outreach Initiatives. Josue Diaz and Andrea Smith discussed summer camp and the
Texas Association Environmental Educator conference.

MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Ponder and a second by Board Member
Chisholm, the Board voted six (6) for and zero (0) opposed to adjourn the Regular
Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board at 7:04 p.m. on Wednesday,May 18,2021.
The motion carried.
