Call to Order
With a quorum of the Board members present,the Regular Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board
was called to order by Chair Smith at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, in the City Hall
Basement Conference Room B of City Hall, 305 Century Parkway,Allen, TX 75013.
1. Approve Minutes of the January 21, 2020,Regular Meeting.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Chisholm and a second by Board Member
Bernard, the Board voted five (5) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the minutes of
January 21, 2020, Regular Meeting. The motion carried.
2. Receive Financial Report.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Chisholm and a second by Board Member
Rude, the Board voted seven (7) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the Financial
Report. The motion carried.
3. Discussion of KAB Scholarship.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Kacines and a second by Board Member
Bernard, the Board voted six(6) for and one(1) opposed to put$15,000 into the KAB
scholarship fund. The motion carried.
4. Review KAB Logos. The board discussed the KAB logo and made suggestions.
5. Receive Update on KAB Event and Projects.
• Arbor Day Poster Contest—December 1 —February 13, 2020—Update. The board
reviewed entries and selected 3rd place.
• KTB Individual and Organization Award Applications—February 14, 2020—Update.
Josue Diaz and Andrea Smith reported that the awards were submitted.
• Allen Eagle Run—February 29, 2020—Update. The board discussed the event.
• Litter Index—March 11, 2020—Update. The board discussed the event.

• KTB Youth and Educator Award Applications—April 3, 2020—Update. Andrea Smith
reported that she was going to submit Roya Azimi.
• Eggscellent Family Adventure—April 04, 2020—Update. Josue Diaz reported that the
half the board will host the Eggscellent Family Adventure while the other half will be at
Earthfest.
• Earthfest Allen—April 04, 2020—Update. Donna Kliewer discussed Earthfest.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Ponder and a second by Board Member
Kacines, the Board voted seven(7) for and zero (0) opposed to put spend$30 on the
Honey Queen Fee for Earthfest. The motion carried.
• Reuse-A-Shoe Contest—March 23 —April 10, 2020—Update. Andrea Smith reported the
dates.
• Great American Cleanup—April 18, 2020—Update. Josue Diaz reported that the
shredder cancelled and was replaced by Serra Shred.
6. Discuss Outreach Initiatives. Josue Diaz and Andrea Smith discussed KAB outreach
initiatives.

MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Ponder and a second by Board Member
Bernard, the Board voted six (6) for and one (1) opposed to adjourn the Regular
Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board at 7:31 p.m.on Tuesday,February 18,2020.
The motion carried.
