R-3660-4-19 RESOLUTION NO.3660-4-19(R)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, APPOINTING AN ACTING CITY MANAGER; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,Peter H.Vargas will retire effective April 30,2019;and,
WHEREAS,the City Council is currently conducting an executive search for a new city manager;and,
WHEREAS,the City Council desires to appoint an acting city manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY,TEXAS,THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby appoints Eric Ellwanger to serve as the acting city manager for the
City of Allen beginning May 1, 2019, and shall on an interim basis temporarily perform the functions and
duties of the City Manager specified in the City Charter, ordinances, resolutions, rules, and policies of the
City and perform other legally permissible and proper duties and functions as the City Council shall from
time to time assign until the date a new City Manager is appointed by the City Council and begins
employment as the City Manager for the City.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective May 1,2019.
