Call to Order
With a quorum of the Board members present,the Regular Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board
was called to order by Chair Ponder at 6:35 PM on Tuesday,April 19,2022,in the City Hall Basement
Conference Room A of City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen,TX 75013.
1. Approve Minutes of the March 15,2022, Regular Meeting.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Chowdhury and a second by Board Member
Hermida, the Board voted five(5) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the minutes.
2. Receive Financial Report.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Hermida and a second by Board Member
Chowdhury, the Board voted five(5) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the Financial
Report. The motion carried.
3. Funding Collin County Master Gardeners Association/Allen Public Library — The
Courtyard Gardens.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Walters and a second by Board Member
Chowdhury, the Board voted six (6) for and zero (0) opposed to approve to fund the
Collin County Master Gardeners Association/Allen Public Library — The Courtyard
Gardens. The motion carried.
4. Receive Update on KAB Event and Projects.
• March 21 through April 8,2022—Reuse-A-Shoe—Andrea Smith gave an update.
• April 9, 2022—Eggscellent Family Adventure—Andrea Smith and Chair Ponder
discussed the event.
• April 12, 2022—KAB Report to Council—The Board discussed the report.
• April 12, 2022—Beautify Texas Award Results—April 12, 2022—Josue Diaz described
the award.

discussed the Proclamation.

• April 23, 2022—Earth Day at Outlet Mall—Andrea Smith discussed the event.
• April 23, 2022—Earthfest at STEAM—Josue Diaz discussed the event.
• June 25, 2022—Allen USA Celebration—Josue Diaz,Andrea Smith, Chair Ponder
described the event.
• June 27-30, 2022—Keep Texas Beautiful Conference—Andrea Smith and Chair Ponder
described the conference.
5. Discuss Outreach Initiatives.
Josue Diaz and Andrea Smith gave updates on outreach initiatives.

MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member McIntosh and a second by Board Member
Hermida, the Board voted seven (7) for and zero (0) opposed to adjourn the Regular
Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board at 7:22 p.m. on Tuesday,April 19, 2022.
The motion carried.

5. Receive Update on KAB Event and Projects.
• Arbor Day Poster Contest—March 17, 2022—Andrea Smith informed the board about
the virtual awards ceremony.
• Beautify Texas Award Applications—March 17, 2022—Andrea Smith and Josue Diaz
gave an update.
• Reuse-A-Shoe—March 21 through April 8, 2022—Andrea Smith gave an update.
• Eggscellent Family Adventure—April 9, 2022—Andrea Smith and Chair Ponder
discussed the event.
• KAB Report to Council—April 12, 2022—Vice Chair Chisholm volunteered to give the
report.
• Great American Cleanup Proclamation—April 12, 2022—Josue Diaz explained the
proclamation.
