Min - City Council - 1962 - 03/08 - RegularREGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ALLEN March 8th 1962 Minutes read and approved: Members present as follows: Mayor V.B. Watson Aldermen Jack Hedgcoxe, Carl Marion, Phil Pringle and C.E. Ottaway. Absent J.C. Hefner. H.E. Hefner Leon Chumbley and G.W. Porter Jr. committee from the Baptist Church, in regard to closing the alley on the north side of the Church, or moving the SEWER LINE. C.E. Ottaway moved that the church secure an Engineer in regard to moving the SEWER LINE from the alley. Motion by Carl Marion that the names of the candidates be approved and be placed on the City Ballot for the election to be held the 3rd day of April A.D. 1962. Motion sec. by C.E. Ottaway. Motion passed ayes (4) four noes (0) none. The names were drawn from the hat for place on the ballot as Follows, Mayor Gentry T. Jones Aldermen F. Dean Sears V.B. Watson Talmadge L. Oxford Donald P. Rodenbough Jack Hedgcoxe The Council requires an 18 inch Tile for the front of the Hefner & McCall bldg on north avenue B West. Motion by Carl Marion that the City pays off the WARRANTS in GROUP #1 (one) to the Central National Bank. Sec by Phil Pringle. Motion passed. Ayes (4) Four / noes (0) none. A RESOLUTION THAT WE THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ALLEN DIRECT THE MERCANTILE NATIONAL BANK TO INVEST $4,335.63 IN THE SAME SERIES BONDS AS WERE ON PREVIOUS DATE JULY 29th 1960 BEARING INTERESET OF 3-7/8%. Motion by Phil Pringle to pass the above Resolution and second by Carl Marion. The vote was ayes (4) Four / noes (0) none. Motion to adjourn by Mr. Ottaway / sec. by Phil Pringle.
