MAY 24th 1962
Meeting called to order by Mayor Gentry T. Jones, with the following
Council members present: Phil Pringle, F. Dean Sears and Talmadge
Oxford. Members absent was J.C. Hefner and C.E. Ottaway. (Mr. C.E.O. sick).
Minutes read and approved.
Mr. Winters and Mr. Miller from the Texas Power & Light Co. was present
in regard to replacing some of the lights on FIRST Street in the main
section of the Town of Allen with either VAPOR LIGHTS or GUARD-LIGHTS.
Discussion on this matter to come up later.
Motion by Mr. Oxford and sec. by Mr. Pringle to pay bills that were
due at this time. Motion passed ayes (3) Three / noes (0) none.
Discussion on connecting North 3rd Street West, with West Ave. C North
connecting the Whis. Estates with West Ave C North.
Motion by Talmadge Oxford that Ordinance #17 with reference to BLDG.
PERMITS should be reviewed for future changes. The Council to discuss
this matter with the City Attorney at some later date. Sec by Mr. Sears
motion passed Ayes (3) Three / noes (0) none.
Motion by Mr. Oxford that the Mayor contact our accountant, in regard
to getting a SOCIAL SECURITY plan set up for the employment of the Town
of Allen. Sec. by Mr. Sears. Motion passed Ayes (3) three noes (0) none.
Discussion about paying Mr. E.F. Ereckson more salary.
Motion was made by Talmadge Oxford that Mr. Ereckson's salary be raised
from $200.00 to $225.00 per month, effective as of June 1st 1962.

STREET PLANING
Motion by F. Dean Sears to complete North 3rd Street west out to Ave C North
West, also put drainage ditch along North 3rd. Street West to take care
of water from West Ave D North, intersecting West Ave, C North
Put drainage tile across North 3rd Street West, on the west side of
West Ave. B North 2nd
Next to fix South Street from State Highway 2170 to the intersection
of East Ave C South, and fix dip at the intersection of South 3rd St.
east and East Ave. C South.
Ave AA North of First Street East. Sec by Mr. Oxford, passed ayes Three.
Mr. Sears moves that the Mayor completes the first three projects listed
sec by Phil Pringle, motion passed Ayes (3) three / noes (0) none.
Motion by Phil Pringle to pay of WARRANTS #2 to the Central National
Bank, McKinney, Texas. sec by Mr. Oxford, motion passed ayes (3) Three
noes (0) none.
