REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN
October 11, 1962
Meeting called to order by Mayor Gentry T. JONES
Minutes of last regular meeting, September 27, 1962, read and approved.
Council members present as follows : J.C. HEFNER, T. OXFORD, D. SEARS,
P PRINGLE. Absent C.E. Ottoway
Mr. W.E. FORD was present at the meeting and presented to the City
Council installment #3 of the Southwood Estates Addition. Mr. Ford
requested the City Of Allen to accept this installment.
MOTION: by Dean SEARS that the City of Allen accept these plans as
presented provided the curbing to be extended along the East
side of lot #34 in Block #4 (intersection of Ellis Street and
Avenue C South) and further, that the covenants in installment
#3 be the same as Southwood Estates installment #2, except that
the minimum requirement of "living area" for each dwelling shall
be not less than 1000 square feet.
Motion seconded by Phil Pringle . Ayes - 4, Noes - 0; Motion
carried .
MOTION: by Phil Pringle that the Mayor consult the City Attorney in
regard to rezoning of the W. A. JOHNSON property to its
original status in ZONE "A". If all legal measures are met
the Mayor is pursue the matter to that end . AYES - Pringle , sec by
Sears, Hefner. Noes - Oxford ; Motion carried.
MOTION; by T. Oxford that the Mayor contact Mr. R. Patterson in regard
to having Mr Patterson repair his driveways, on North C Street,
so as not to obstruct the natural drainage of water. Ayes 4;
Noes - 0; Motion carried .
MOTION: by T. Oxford, second Phil Pringle that second reading on Ordinance No. 29
be approved. Ayes - 4 Noes - 0; Motion carried.
Motion by Mayor Jones to adjourn. Ayes - 4; Noes - 0; Motion
carried.
